[She swings her sword at the one behind her, damaging it enough to incapacitate but not kill. In almost the same motion, she strikes at the other again, before jumping back a few feet to avoid its revenge blow.]
[When she has a moment, she looks around for the other demigod at last, catching sight of him.] Your right!
[And she strikes at the alien again, downing it. She thinks it's dead this time, but she's too used to monsters turning into dust to be sure. And then she makes a beeline for Nico, having taken care of her own targets.]

he turns back around to look at the other demigod, but his body is still tense and ready to spring into action if the fight continues. ]
Was that all of them?

I don't see anymore. For now. [She adds that last bit on begrudgingly, because she knows it's likely there'll be more.] But we shouldn't stick around.
[And Annabeth doesn't really wait before setting off again, clutching her sword tight and hugging the wall. She has a destination to reach, okay. She just kind of takes it for granted and expects Nico will follow, not yet out of battle brain.]
[Besides, there are definitely noises up ahead, and if they're aliens, she plans to take them by surprise.]

he shifts his sword from one hand to the other, keeping an eye out behind them as they walk. there's more sounds of fighting up ahead, so nico uses his sense of impeccable timing to blurt out the one question that's been nagging him the most. ]
Where are the others?
[ priority order: hazel and then the rest, tbh. ]

[Annabeth doesn't quite stiffen, but something in her goes fairly rigid. Honestly it's a question she's had for herself since she woke up here, alone and confused and annoyed, her first thought being Percy, because they aren't supposed to be separated again. Nico's words just remind her of that.]
You're the only others I've seen. [If she sounds biting, it's not his fault. But one of the aliens seems to hear her as they get closer, turning around to look for the source and noting her presence. Her gaze hones in on it as she tries to decide what to do.] I'm guessing neither of us have been here long.
[Whatever it means to have two half-bloods instead of one now. She'd been preparing herself to be fighting here alone, like following the Mark of Athena all over again.]

( which is unfair, he knows that completely, but he's long since realized that whatever feelings bubbled up inside of him were far from rational. )
plus, he thinks it'll give him time to figure out what might've happened to the athena parthenos in the mean time. that wasn't a conversation he wanted to have with the other demigod just yet. ]
Just as the message went out. [ he focuses back on their current situation, raising a few pieces of debris with the strength he has left, ready to chuck them at the alien. ]
Maybe they're fighting elsewhere. [ although, he doesn't know if that'd be better or worse. ]

[Annabeth wants Percy with her and she doesn't - because who knows what's happening, but she's not so fond of this potential separation. Escape one hellhole, end up in another. Someone out there is amused, but it's not her. She prefers Percy at her back, but she likes him safe, too.]
[One of the aliens breaks towards them; Annabeth adjusts her grip on her sword.] Yeah, that's about when I got here. Sounds like we're the first crew.
[And she lunges to meet the alien halfway.]

he shadow travels until he's up close and personal with the alien, giving it a nice elbow to the stomach before he can start using his sword. sadly, the alien doesn't quite go down so easily as he'd imagined ( and nico is far from a powerhouse ), so his arm is quickly caught and twisted behind his back.
the teen grits his teeth from the pain, but that doesn't stop him from trying to kick his way free. if only he could summon an extra pair of skeletal hands — for now, he might just have to fall back onto a disappearing trick again if all else fails. ]

[When she turns, her eyes land on Nico and his predicament. She knows he can shadow travel away, but she also knows he's probably exhausted himself with that option. So Annabeth rushes in from the side, slamming her body into the alien; it doesn't knock them over, but it does loosen the alien's grip enough for Annabeth to jerk her weapon in and free up Nico's arm. She swings her leg right after, aiming for it's groin.]
[It occurs to her midswing that maybe the groin isn't as sensitive a target as she's used to.]
