still, he doesn't do anything that might deter the other's plan and brings the shadows around him to shroud himself in darkness. he sure hopes this works because he's not sure how much of a speedy getaway he can make when there's nowhere to go outside this ship.
as the second alien rounds the corner, but doesn't immediately follow into the footsteps of his fellow alien, nico realizes that maybe it'll need a kind of push after all. he disappears into the shadows surrounding him and reappears a little further down the hall that loki had been trying to trick them into running. ]
Looking for me?
[ hopefully, when the second alien starts charging, all he'll have to do is shadow travel back in time. ]

Loki, who's taken quiet residence in the rafters, is quickly formulating plan C if this doesn't work. (as plan B, plan C was more of the "think on your feet and hope you don't get bludgeoned" plan.) it takes him just a moment to recover from "ah, he can teleport?" to "ah, he can teleport."
(in all reality, it was a simple spell that Loki could most likely learn himself, and that would be all the more useful in these situations. Leah had a few choice insults for him whenever he showed the lack of knowledge for a simple spell. he could learn it if he wanted, he had the abilities and makings of a great sorcery it was more ... well, the whole Loki thing got complicated.)
his eyes go from the alien charging and back to Nico and he crouches up just in case he's needed for another reckless stunt to save the person that ... saved him?

only to reappear in the rafters where loki's been dwelling this whole time. he manages to catch himself just as he's about to lose his balance, but luckily, the alien's got no clue as to where either of them have gone. after a few seconds of confusion, it decides to keep going the way loki had tried to bait it towards. it's only then that nico lets out a soft breath and takes a look at the strangely dressed kid. ]
I don't think it's the last we'll see of them.

[ but he recovers quickly, sitting up cross-legged. he is ... clad rather strangely, all the way from his tights to the circlet on his head. he's pulling down his hood and looking thoughtful as he closes an eye. ]
Undoubtedly, but we've created a diversion for now. More brawn then brains I'd wager, we've enough time to lickity-split before they realize what's come to pass.
You have my thanks. Your heroics saved me from the most unpleasant pastime of Loki football.

[ right. of course those outside the demigods weren't used to seeing him pop out of the shadows — and he was pretty sure it made them uncomfortable too. nico looks a bit sheepish, at least, and out of the battle element, it's easy to see he's nothing more than a scrawny teen who really looks like he needs more sleep. ]
We should probably get moving before they decide for round two.
[ he shifts awkwardly, sticking his sword back at his side and shoving his hands in the pockets of his aviator jacket afterwards. nico raises an eyebrow at loki's attire, but it's something else that's more of a pressing question at the moment. ]

Being chased by extra-terrestrial brutes certainly beats an undead bloody-mouthed soul-devouring valkyrior, a Hel-hound, and a megalomanic fire giant. There was also that demonic fellow that lacked a shirt. All and all, I suppose I'm doing rather good today. But it is a little depressing when you think about it.
[ he says, like this happens all the time. he shrugs his shoulders, rolls back on his rear before sliding down from the rafters and hitting the floor with a soft thunk. he has to adjust his hood again. ]
But perhaps we should count our blessings before anything of the like decides to show up.

[ suspicion levels are totally levelling up. also he doesn't quite pick up on the difference there, but hey, give it time.
nico follows suit after a moment, jumping down from the rafters and into a roll to cushion his landing. once he's done brushing his jeans off, he's back to regarding loki with some manner of wariness. he's also not going to answer that question until he gets a response to one of his now. ( it's whichever he finds first ftr, he's not picky as long as he starts getting some answers and some progress. ) ]

depending how much attention is paid to him, there are a few details that are off. aside from his weird clothing, there's something that's a bit heavier about him. he has a presence that normal mortals don't usually have.

We're in space in the middle of a space battle. My identity is the least thing that needs explanation at the moment. The pressing and important matter of this staying alive business and saving the day should take precedence.
We can catch up for a friendly chat over coffee as soon as our safety is assured. We can't let anyone die, eh? That would be terribly unfortunate.

[ he hates to admit it, but loki does make a good point. it wasn't as if the other boy had proven untrustworthy so far — had helped him even — and whoever he was, whatever kind of mortal or non-mortal he was could be figured out later. ( that coffee chat is definitely being held onto. ) ]
