[There's no sarcasm in the voice: Wing figures 'not being killed' is pretty good a reason.

[Besides there's not much time to argue, since the creature definitely doesn't want to play nice. Wing turns, driving the back of his blade's hilt into the center of the other's chest. ]

( the giant robot has manners. he supposes he should be able to appreciate that, but right now he's just looking, wide-eyed, at the rapidly dying form of the alien.

despite everything, he can still mourn a death-- even if the alternative would have been his own.

he's silent for a long moment before he grits out-- ) Thanks.

[He will forgive Wing. He doesn't like killing but some enemies simply will not stop at anything less. The slavers who had threatened Drift had been the same.]

[Not like Wing could help, but he wants to make sure.]

( while he can almost immediately parse "damaged" as "injured," it's still an odd choice of words and he finds himself canting his head, giving wing a skeptical expression. )

I'm just fine. Assuming my heart doesn't give out from all the excitement.

( that's delivered in the same dry, sardonic tone. after a moment, however, he mutters while looking at his feet: ) Thanks.

What--no. Of course it doesn't. Otherwise adrenaline junkies would be dead before they had the chance to procreate, which clearly isn't the case.

[Still, you get a worried peering at just in case.] Are you feeling all right, though?

[But this next part? He's totally got this.]

Yes. ( still gruffly, he adds: ) I'm a doctor, I'll warn you if I'm going into shock.

( but then he tilts his head. )

That's good. Uh. Could you tell me what to do if that does happen?

[He has no idea about your human anatomy.]

You're lucky, then, you and your kind. My people are...violent.

[Uh, not him, though--never mind you just saw him slice up a creature. That was gallantry!]

Violent, huh. I can see that.

( given, well, the slicing up of other aliens. but mccoy doesn't sound condemning; rather, he almost chuckles. )

Guess if you're helping me out, I can't really fault how you fight, can I?

[It only looks a little, well, chop socky right now, because...uh...yeah, he's got nothin'. ]

If you have another way to stop them, I'm listening.

[But listening warily because is that other creepy things coming?]

Normally when you encounter hostile aliens, you try to figure out what they want, and then you try to negotiate.

But these ones don't seem up to talking.

[And Wing has the decency to look a little abashed. ]

But the ones I met before, well, they attacked, and I simply presumed these would be the same.
