AUGUST PLOT: A LOVELY TRIP TO PLANET 10952.EG.K

Arrival on EG.K is non-eventful; one will find themselves about a five minute walk away from the closest village on a very flat planet. The purple and turquoise grass waves in the near-constant warm breeze under a rosy pink sky, and while the sun seems far too close to the planet for comfort, the semi-cloudy nature of the planet means one can see far into the distance without squinting constantly.

EG.K is currently a delightful 23.9 degrees in Universal Standard Temperature, dipping down to 15.5 UST at night. Visitors to the planet can expect clear skies and no rain or storms for the week. Occasional winds up 50 MPH are present, but not constant.

Make friends with the locals, take a swim in a lake, actually do whatever it is you came here to begin with - whatever it is, enjoy your week on this charming and uneventful planet!

[He's curious. Honestly, she'd be, too, so she doesn't even blame him. Even on her end, it's kinda nice to just be having a conversation about the familiar for once, otherwise she probably wouldn't be as open about it as she is.]

[But she should really probably talk with Nico about how they want to handle the whole demigod thing. Annabeth's too used to keeping that on the down low.]

I met Hercules in passing. He was kind of a jerk. [One of Piper's finest moments, drowning him in ham.] I've met the Twelve Olympians though, and Hades too. [Among others.]

[Casually skipping over the how she knows them for now?? Yes.] You meet any yourself?

My brother had stories that said so much. [ Loki says with a hint of amusement, making hands to emphasize. he had never met Hercules himself, but his nude adventures were a bit legendary. Thor always had something to say about him, and it entirely depended on the basis of the story and the mood he was in.

if he catches on to the evasive maneuver, he doesn't say anything.
]

Er ... well ... the Warriors Three, Heimdall, seer of all, [ he begins to tick off of on his fingers. ] the Lady Sif, bearer of war ... of course there's my brother, the Thunderer, you could say ... and, ah, my adoptive mothers ...

[ he never really kept that he was a god a secret. ]

And the All-Father, but it's been a while since he left.

[ he doesn't even need to stop completely, and Loki doesn't ask, instead he jogs and in an impressive (but sloppy fourteen year old boy) leap he grabs the closest piece that can be used as a handle and attaches himself to the side of the tank. just gonna recklessly ride with the questionable machines, Loki.

everyone in the Nine Realms was going to be jealous.
]

Kinda like a shapeshifter.

Kinda.

[ Loki was one of those, too, but he hadn't quite found his taste for it yet. he didn't have all that much power that he could really pack in his tiny form, and playing with it also gave legitimacy to the person he once had been. he vouched to use his wit to guide him for the most part. ]

There seem to be many of you robotic shapeshifters. Have you a name, perhaps a title?

[ ...almost every Cybertronian is going to gasp if you share the tale, Loki. and likely not believe a word that the boy says. so Megatron is safe there. no one is going to think him capable of carting an organic being around. ]

We are Cybertronians. It was said that the god Adaptus was the one that created us and gave us our other forms.

[ so no. not really shape shifters. ]

There are quite a few of us here, yes. Drift, Starscream, and Rodimus are, by far, the loudest of us. I am Megatron.

( Eye level for Rodimus is roughly fourteen feet taller than most people's, which is why he's very much taken aback by the fact that something is hovering in front of him. An organic, and one of the human ones too, by all appearances.

Which is funny, because - )

Look, last time I was on your planet I was in kind of a rush to get off of it, but I'm pretty sure you didn't fly.

[The physical cues that she's not human are too subtle for most Cybertronians to pick up, meaning Rodimus sure as hell isn't going to notice.]

If you'd been on my planet, I'm pretty sure I would have heard about it, big guy.

[Only pretty sure, 'cause there are a lot of giant robots around, really.]

Probably another universe.

"An expedition? But one that never returned..." That sounds like the subtitle of a cheesy horror vid. If only this was all fiction, if only.

"Someone has to." And something of a smile flickers over his mouth, brightening up the grimdark. "Better be us." Working together with Wing again? Yes, please. Drift would have it no other way.

He doesn't notice the passport bracelet right away--they're tiny on humans okay?--but the more she gestures with that grass the harder it is to miss. Well. That would explain the ability to sweep him off his feet, literally. It's a little mollifying to his ego really, just about everyone from Knowhere had powers of some kind right? He's a little miffed that his own supposed powers of precognition didn't tell him that was coming. Apparently there's more meditation and aura clearing in his future.

"Rolling around?" he chuckles, "Course not. I drove here. Sorta took the scenic route." And probably left patterns in the plains that people from orbit might speculate were poorly drawn crop circles. In some kind of bad alien cursive. "Though I guess if by 'rolling' you mean four wheels then absolutely."

Nita's host of superpowers might seem excessive to a species that isn't, y'know, functionally immortal and able to change shape at will, but since that doesn't describe Cybertronians, Drift ought to be able to take it all in stride. She herself certainly isn't bothered by giant robots. Her major criterion is whether they're nice giant robots, or if not nice, at least in possession of redeeming qualities.

"Huh. Where'd you park?" She looks around, squinting. The planet is very flat, and she doesn't see a car anywhere, much less a car that would fit a giant robot. "Is it cloaked?"

That's the obvious answer, of course.

( That is rude but also incredibly true. Also he just doesn't care that much - he's still sore about the whole shooting and killing Autobots thing to welcome most organic interaction with open arms. Except for the small one that took pictures of them fighting. That one can stay. )

You sure you haven't heard of us? We kind of made the news once or twice, and then you all decided to try and kill us. ( He's not bitter. But the last part gets him slightly more confused. ) You don't look like anyone who's spent any amount of time in the Dead Universe. You're uh. Kind of more alive than they tend to be.

( Which is the only one he has for comparison )

Large robots, trained in combat? He figures they must have some advantage.

[When Starscream first arrived at this planet, he had hoped it'd be interesting or at least useful. But as it seems, the planet is flat and boring.

It reminds him of Earth a bit, only flatter. And more boring. But at least he stumbled upon a lake. It was there that he could stare at his wonderful reflection in the water.

Ah, yes. Finally something interesting to look at. And admire, because damn if he isn't amazing.

It feels a bit odd, this ragtag group working together towards a common goal, but also really, really good. It'd put a smile on Drift's face if the circumstances weren't so forbiddingly dire.

What does put a smile on Drift's face is the sight of Wing cresting the rise, returning to camp. Megatron might get to the greeting first, but Drift's is no less sincere.

"Maybe it's a mysteriously indescribable thing?" This would not surprise Drift given the nature of this whole affair so far. "This is just building anticipation."

See, he can do theatrics too, Megatron.

Megatron remains a silent observer to a degree. Some habits of his are harder to curb than others. Watching how people interact with each other to understand them better is one of those. A monster Megatron might consider himself to a certain point, but knowing people is just a thing that comes naturally after spending some time with them.

"It's building suspense as well," he adds, somewhat casually. "I'd expect Rodimus to use a phrase like that - it says a bit but also nothing at the same time."

At least with Megatron his dramatics are backed up with actions, unlike his dear co-captain. Never mind that though, time to move onto more serious affairs. So back to Wing.

"So what did you find?"

I'm not sure if it's good or bad that his jerkitude expands universes.

[She'll come back to everything else in a moment, but it's the brother comment that pings her first.]

Thor's your brother? [There's a two second pause.] Are you a demigod? [It's where her first thought goes, because that's what she's used to - especially when it comes to dealing with teenagers.]

[Wow, Rodimus, it's almost like thinking every member of a particular group is the same is problematic.]

If I got invested every time someone made the news and then there was a fight, I'd never have time for anything else.

[The Decepticons are less scary than Ultron, anyway.

The unspoken element in the conversation is that Nita doesn't find Rodimus particularly unusual, but she's not mentioning it precisely because she doesn't find him unusual. Eh, giant robots, must be Tuesday.]

Uh...that part's complicated, but I'm alive.

[Not that he'd be remotely close to on-point for most other characters, but Nita's been having a weird couple of months.]

What? No—I'm a god, duh. Nothing demi about it.

[ of course he had some special circumstances. he had been reborn in a particular image after a very convoluted plan that ultimately led to a former life's demise. so, it was a bit awkward to see such a young god, especially one that reigned over such an abstract concept such as chaos. ]

Wing can't help but pick up a sort of judgmental vibe from Megatron--being compared to Rodimus didn't sound like a good thing.

He feels, at times like this, how being sheltered in Crystal City for so long has really cramped him. For all he knows, this is the sort of thing these other Cybertronians run into all the time. And he'd gone willingly, then, but he felt so...parochial now.

"I think, well, maybe you should come look. It might be what we're looking for."

( Irresistible impulses, absolutely.

Rodimus doesn't allow himself to slow down to let Drift catch up, no, that's not the point of this - instead he passes to the opposite side of Drift by cutting in front of the other mech, trusting that his friend isn't going to crash into him.

And that was a getting old rib, how dare you, Drift. )

Maybe I should slow down for you. Age before beauty, you know.

[A small smile appears at the comment.]

It's certainly more private than the middle of a busy village or an even busier space station. Although perhaps the term solitary is more applicable.

[Not that it bothers her. She certainly prefers it to that kind of bustle.]

It's a good place to think...but it sounds like few leads are out here.

"True. Be awfully hard to snatch away several tons of metal amazing. ... And me too, I guess." Yes hello awkward flirting. He saw that in a holovid somewhere but it didn't translate so well here.

He nods, "Right. Who knows how long we'll be gone. We might want to check in with someone periodically in case something happens. But er...supplies?" He's got what little rations he has left and medikits? His is safely stashed in his shuttle...off in some other dimension where he left it.

Wing's sense is probably not too far from the truth, Drift is just more accustomed to it. Granted he has a few concerns of his own when it comes to Megaton's judgement, but the current situation is here to let me him conveniently evade that topic.

Of course, he's also interested to watch the interaction between Wing and Megatron, two very influential forces in his life that were once in opposition.

"Rodimus would probably say it just to spite you though," he shrugs: the Lost Light's other captain had made his feelings quite public on the ex-warlord. He turns to Wing though, knowing the jet's intentions are different. "Then let's be off yeah? Don't keep us in too much suspense."

Take it all in stride he would; if anything, that seems way more normal than the micro-lifespan of the typical human. Now if only she made cool sound effects while changing shape, then they could really party on the kinship level. And Drift is nice! Totally nice. Nevermind that he carries more swords than he has hands. Those are just there for the Bad People™. Like Pharma. And Overlord. And generally speaking anyone who messes with Wing.

"Park?" His helm tilts because, you know, he's sitting right here. "Oh. Heh. No, if only I had cloaking technology. No we hide in plain sight." He lifts an arm and points to the outside of his forearm. That is definitely is a tire sticking out there. A tire covered in dirt-now-mud and mangled grass.

It was true, Wing wasn't too far off. Megatron used to have a fairly high opinion of Rodimus before the war truly began. However, being stuck with him moping for six months really shaped his present opinion of his fellow captain. The guy really was a brat that needed someone to jostle him every now and then instead of coddle him. Megatron was more than happy to oblige.

It was also a little fun.

"He would," Megatron agreed. "But he would also say it for other reasons."

Other reasons that Megatron was not going to get into. That wasn't a judgment on Megatron's part. He, honestly, held fairly high expectations of Wing. Perhaps it wasn't fair, but it was what it was. Right now, though, he agreed with Drift that they really should be off to see it. Thus he nodded to them both, closing the topic of around his comment.

...This was where he really was going to miss his flight capable frame.
