Well, yeah, it's not really the best thing to build a house out of since it'd mold and would probably smell pretty rank after a day or two in the sun.

Veronica Mars.

My, uh, actual name?

[A bit of a headtilt, because that's a strange question.]

Veronica Mars. [Like Dai Atlas, probably, as a name. An important name.]

What does it mean?

Right. Okay then, Wing.

[How was it possible for a giant robot to remind her of a puppy? No idea. Maybe she'd been hit on the head.]

Um, it means Veronica Mars? Sorry, buddy, but we don't exactly come with explanations.

It's because I can fly.

Oh, okay. Right then. Flying robots. I guess that's not the weirdest thing I've heard of today.

[He laughs. He's never been called 'weird' before. It's a fun experience. ]

I find this whole place a little 'weird', honestly. Don't you?

More than a little, buddy. I'm kind of finding the whole concept of being in space weird, let alone in a space station talking to a robot. Named Wing.

Would another name make you more comfortable?

[Sure, that didn't sound even the slightest bit like a conceited bit of outrage. It reminded her of the many, many times she'd heard 'don't you know who I am?' Great. She was the galactic rich boy. Kill her now.]

Earth? Is that what you are? An earth?

Would I kid about something like that?

[He likes a joke, but he'd never lie about flying. It's slowly sinking in to him that he's going to be able to maybe fly here. ]

No. I'm an Earthling. A human.

[Wow. Guess she was like that neighbor that everyone gave the stinkeye too because of the dismantled truck on the front yard. Rude, aliens.]

I don't know. Would you?

Earthling. Got it.

[Sounds a little nicer than 'earth', really. It sounds almost cute.]

[Others of his kind have been to Earth, just not his band of knights. And he's feeling terribly parochial because of it right now. ]

I...I wouldn't? [Not a master of joking with aliens, apparently, is Wing.]

[Anything but 'cute', Wing. She's tiny and blonde. Cute is a misnomer she hears constantly.]

No? Well then. We've settled that.

[They hadn't settled squat, but there were more pressing issues than future flying lessons. Like what the hell they were doing there in the first place.]

[But he thinks 'cute' is a good thing!]

So that's progress!

[He says, brightly, and then there's a slightly awkward moment of silence before he blurts out.]

So....this is very different from your life on Earth, then?

[It is, but only when said by members of her family or anyone with enough Veronica Points to get away with saying it. To her face.]

... You could say that. I guess if this is real, I shouldn't expect everyone to just know what Earth is like, huh?

[He is unfamiliar with this new currency of Veronica Points.]

It feels pretty real to me. And I'm pretty sure i couldn't dream up something like you or this Earth of yours.

No? I don't know, Earth's pretty mundane as far as interesting things go. Now, a planet full of robots...
