[Oh. Oh. Starscream knows that voice. There is no mistaking it.]

Megatron?! But you -- you're ...

[Dead. He would know. He left Megatron's corpse floating in space. Dread suddenly washed over him as he realizes his situation is probably going to go from bad to really bad.

Well, that is until he turns himself around enough to look at him. And notices one detail in particular.]

... An Autobot?!

[ ah. the sweet sound of terror. oh how Megatron does so enjoy soaking it in from Starscream in particular. granted, it's the wrong frame. it resembles Starscream's Earth model rather that the one at the trial.

speaking of... Starscream seems surprised by one little detail he should not be. now that is interesting. he crosses his arms, rubbing at his chin. ]

How curious. You act as if you have seen a ghost when you should not be surprised in the least.

Well, technically speaking ...

[Starscream eyes Megatron some more wondering if this is some sort of weird hallucination. He slowly gets back to his feet in case any aliens come barging it, but he can't really shake the shock of Megatron = Autobot.]

Did your, uh, time in space result in a bit of soul searching for, you know --

[He gestures at the Autobot symbol.]

[ Starscream can be amazed or disturbed enough to be distracted. Megatron is not. whatever the jet misses as far as enemies go, Megatron will catch. he is prepared for an attack at all times. ]

The forces that brought us here can rip us from different parts of the universe into this one...

[ kind of ignoring the question, isn't here. ]

Would they have enough power to rip the very fabric of time, I wonder.

[That is what Megatron is there for -- to beat things up.]

So what you're saying is ... you're either from an alternate universe where you went all good guy, or you're from the future where you went all good guy.

[Either way this is weird which is why Starscream is still giving him the oddest look.]

... Or you're one of Shocky's escapee clone-projects.

[The last one thought he was an oracle of Primus, why not a Megatron who thinks he's an Autobot?]

[ though hearing Starscream call him Shocky is kind of... yeah. the rest of that sentence is also telling. cloning. HA. ]

You have more or less proven that we are dealing with alternate realities. Interesting.

[ see? he's already trying to see how he can spin that in his favor. ALSO STILL NOT RISING TO THE 'GOOD GUY' JAB. it should be clear that this isn't quite the case. ]

[Sorry Megatron. Autobot symbol equals goodguy. That's how things are. At least now Starscream is pretty sure Megatron isn't going to kill him. Because Autobots don't do that sort of thing.]

[He lets out an exasperated sigh. Why can't the universe, any universe, work with him for once?]

[ hey. this one COULD be more useful than the last. unlikely, but there are larger problems at hand. ]

Decepticon or Autobot hardly matter with or present predicament. To take back the Cortex this forcefield stands in our way.

[Starscream is not sure how he feels about that. Because a) it's Megatron and b) it's Megatron.]

[Does this make him leader of any Decepticons who show up? Starscream thinks it does!]

So ... do you have some sort of plan then?

[Not that Starscream won't consider it to be a stupid plan, whatever it is. But he still hopes Megatron does have one.]

On the Lost Light, we have a specialist of sorts. If he were present, I'd defer to him.

[ who would know a barrier like this better than a guy that can generate a forcefield all his own? unfortunately Trailcutter isn't here. Megatron isn't a scientist either... ]

I was in the process of trying to gauge how much power is drawn on contact.

[ seeing how stable it is. ]

My comm link is nothing but static, so they must have something that's jamming it. [ or else he'd call for Drift to assist. ] Unless the power source is outside of it, we will have to go about this the old fashioned way.

[ by breaking through it. the look on his face says he doesn't mind this. ]

On the what? And I don't think you'll be able to just punch through a force field of this size and magnitude.

[And well, so is his comm link, but no reason to bring that up right at the moment.

Starscream steps around Megatron and over to the force field to examine it.]

I never said I would punch it, Starscream.

[ please. he doesn't have his fusion cannon, but he still has a cannon. in his altmode.

but he can be patient. watch the jet inspect the force field with narrowed optics. so Megatron might be trying to see similarities and differences between two different Starscreams here. ]

But were you thinking about it?

[Starscream shifts towards Megatron to give him a brief smirk before going back to the force field. He'll move around it a bit ... trying to look for any weak spots.

I had the thought to use my altmode to blast it.

[ duh, little jet. ]

But you don't have your fusion cannon.

[And he assumes Megatron still turns into a gun.]

I threw that away along with Decepticonism. My present altmode is a tank.

[ which means he still has a cannon! ]

... This might seem like a stupid question, but I'm going to ask anyway. Why would you toss away your most powerful weapon? Is this part of the Autobot goody-goody brainwashing?

[Do they corrupt people with their happy fun times or something? He's just going to stare long and hard.]

[ Megatron stares just as long and hard at Starscream. his faceplates are shifting into that well known scowl that promises pain in the future. ]

What were you hoping to find, inspecting that force field so closely?

[aerospacecommander]

[Starscream grimaces at the evil look, but goes back to looking at the force field. He'll get the answers to his questions later.]

I'm looking at the energy readings to see if there is a weak point. Is that a problem, oh glorious one?

At least someone remembers the proper respect I am due.

[ UNLIKE OTHER PEOPLE. *cough*Rodimus*cough* ]

Not at all. [ a little surprising, but it's not a problem. ] And what have you found?

[Starscream just smirks. Respect? Nah.]

The energy seems to be evenly distributed. Why don't you touch it again so I can take some more scans?

[And just to see if Megatron will do it.]

[He shrugs with a light smirk.]
