[She slows and waits to hear if the coast is clear around the next corner. This boy seems to know a bit more about running from vicious thugs than she would have initially assessed. It was very interesting.]

It is. I attempted to retrace my steps, but I think the hallways are shifting somehow.

[She steps closer to peer around the corner as well.]

[running from Hel hounds all the way to large, apocalyptic fire giants will do that to you. the alien thugs were really small fries compared to a lot of other things that he's had to run from.]

How convenient. It may be to throw off our attackers.

[he perks up.]

... Or we've taken residence in the Death Star. The general space-stuff around does lend to that theory.

[She hadn't considered that possibility, though it does make sense. You wouldn't want important parts of your base to be so easily accessed. Still, hadn't the broadcast earlier suggested they get there to help? How were they to accomplish that if no one could get there?]

Perhaps, but there must be some way to get there if others are trying to defend it supposedly.

[She shakes her head at his suggestion.]

No one has referred to this as a Death Star. What leads you to that conclusion?

I don't think they were anticipating our arrival.

[he slides back around the corner, pressing his shoulder to the wall and deflating with a huff.]

The nuances to their space-y defense systems are still space mysteries are our space presence seems to be.

[he looks up at her, bright-eyed.]

Ah—that! I saw it in a movie. Space ship! Large as a planet! Destroyer! Boom! Giant laser!

[yeah, he's totally fourteen.]

[It would appear the coast is still clear then. Pluto relaxes for the time being, leaning against the wall close to the edge so she can keep an ear out for signs of trouble.

At least now that they are out of danger (for the time being) she can get a better look at the kid she rescued. He can't be much older than Hotaru or Small Lady.
]

I hope given time we can solve them. Though we don't seem to have that luxury at the moment.

[She smiles at him after that. It's a small smile, but it isn't hard to win Setsuna over when you're small and cute.]

While my experiences so far on this space station are limited, I am not sure I would be so quick to rely on movies to inform us as to how we should proceed.

[he's pretty short, gangly, and overly enthusiastic for any normal fourteen year old. the whole battle thing seems to be commonplace to him (he's way too good at running away for it not to be). he does seem a little out of place in his Asgardian robes, complete with tights, circlet and cowl--but among the company he sticks out like any mortal-looking fellow.]

It's not so difficult to write your own moving film script when you're thrown into such dire times. In space, even!

[and he's looking up and around as if he's doing so for the first time. his brow knits in thought.]

Though it begs another question, it seems. Or many, but one most pressing.

[Whatever you say kid. Setsuna isn't sure she wants to rely on movie tropes just yet. However, she's willing to listen to advice on the matter, since he did seem to know a few things about all of this. Or at the very least wasn't bothered by the fact he was in space.]

And what would the more pressing question be?

[aren't you glad you have a history with precocious children, Pluto?]

Why in the Nine Realms they'd want to invade this place.

[his words are marked with both intensity and confusion. he's brushed away the broader questions ("why are we in space?" "something about a space gem?" "where's Han Solo?") with ones that needed to be answered so they weren't suddenly taken by all of their sudden alien invaders.]

[It's a weakness of hers.]

Supposedly a place that has connections to multiple realities and times? The defenses have been compromised. It would hold a great deal of power for whoever claimed it.

[There's a reason she'd been posted to guard the Gates of Time and Space herself. She figured this was a place like that.]

That would be my guess for why they have sought to invade it and claim it for their own.

Then why do we seem the first line of defense?

[usually places of great importance have some kind of traps, tricks or barriers. he expected at least some heroes or something to show up. instead here they were, running up and down changing corridors.]

A place of great power usually has guards doesn't it?

[he looks dubious. perhaps it's because he feels like they hadn't been told the full story--or maybe because he feels that they weren't told the right one at all.]
timeywimeyorb: (Doomed)

[personal profile] timeywimeyorb 2014-07-02 06:13 am (UTC)(link)
It usually does. There was a message that suggested those guards might have been taken down already. I suppose they weren't chosen very well for their job.

[She can see that much. There was that blue man saying all of that before the communication systems had gone down.]

There's more to find out though, I'm sure of that much. We just have to get past all the other aliens first.
