I'd rather offer to help someone and find out they don't need it than the other way around.

[Nita is not in the running for any kind of Top 100 finish in the Duplicity Cup, and she knows it, so why bother trying? Being friendly has worked out well for her, if only because it tends to inspire scarier people to come to her aid when she needs it.]
