[backdated] Like some Kid N Play video
Who: The Cybertronians and anyone else who might be nosy as to what all the large robots are doing together because why not.
What: Sharing resources houseparty?
When: Shortly after the robot network post excitement
Where Green 6, aka Wing's Swingin' Bachelor Pad
After Drift's post, Wing realized that as a knight, he had a mission, to help his people come together and find a way to coexist. Or else. And Drift had mentioned that they should pool resources. So, after double-checking with Drift, Wing sent a small message to each of the Cybertronians on the station to please meet him, this evening, in his quarters.
He wished food wasn't such a consideration here, because he felt bad not being able to lay out a spread of food for hospitality. Maybe they would all bring their own? He can hope. He has his few flight grade fuel rations on a table, just as, well, something.
As it is, he has soft music and subdued lighting, hoping they might defuse any, well, interpersonal tensions.
He stood by the door to greet his guests, with a silent prayer to the whole Guiding Hand, that this went well.
((OOC: This is a general robot shindig meet and greet and hopefully not punch each other. Feel free to post a header for your character for others to tag into--anywhere in Wing's quarters or the hallway or whatever; mess with his stereo, steal his towels, show up early, fashionably late, whatever you want! And of course, non-Cybertronian partycrashers welcome!))

Megatron
that's exactly what he had said to Drift and yet he's here anyway. Putting Megatron into a room with Starscream and Rodimus? that is very dangerous indeed. alas, Drift and his weak reasoning that he really does need to be there as a fellow Cybertronian actually has some merit. that's why Megatron is present, just lingering. granted, the ex-warlord is pretty hard to miss and there aren't a lot of them there, but Megatron much prefers to not show much interest in what's going on. ]
no subject
Which is why he runs into him - catching himself from smacking his helm on the other's frame just in time. Which also means Rodimus is full of a horrible, terrible sense of deja vu. This time with no Matrix to give him that extra edge. Of survival. Recovery, however, is key. Which is why it's near instantaneous and his frown is directed upwards. Where he assumes Megatron's face is - which is more guesswork than he'd like due to being so short in comparison and walking smack into him. )
What are you doing here?
( Yes, great recovery. Not like he's here for the same thing everyone else is. )
no subject
but now? now he wishes he can simply because the kid is that annoying. ]
Same as you, I imagine. I was invited as it were.
[ smug grin. SUCH A SMUG GRIN. ]
no subject
( Can he punch that grin off of Megatron's face? Please? Rodimus thinks it would be the most satisfying thing he's done recently. )
no subject
[ because good lord, Rodimus. everyone hates Starscream. the only person that likely doesn't want the guy dead is likely Rattrap and even that is debatable. but that's hardly the point... ]
Drift is doing what we should be, Rodimus. The war is over. My side lost. Our focus shouldn't be on the past, but the future - one that we cannot hope to make without reuniting as a race. [ really. GROW UP. ] Besides... Even your own best friend - who you let take the blame for your actions - was once a Decepticon not too different from myself. He can change... Why is it so hard to believe that I am incapable of it as well? Bumblbee believed that I could.
[ a careless shrug. ]
I don't want to let him down. My... friend's faith shouldn't be misplaced. It would dishonor everything he tried to stand for.
no subject
( Which, by the way, feel free to inform him because - while he would deny being interested - he'd actually really want to know. )
I didn't let him do anything. ( He was going to own up to it, he was going to come clean and then Drift - Drift had told him no and that he had to do this. But not for Rodimus. That had stung, more than he'd wanted to admit. ) You don't know anything about that, and I don't have to stand here and get lectured by you. ( Rodimus doesn't listen to lectures by Ultra Magnus, who he actually likes. What makes Megatron think he'd actually put up with him doing it? ) Yeah, well, I'm not Bumblebee. And it's because you're Megatron and Drift is-- he's Drift. He didn't start this war, and he didn't continue it for four million years.
( Because Rodimus knows how close he came to being in Drift's position. )
You want to go around with this change of spark? Fine. Maybe you believe it and maybe you have. But I don't have to believe it until I see it, and I certainly don't have to act like you've earned a place among the Autobot ranks just because you tore Bee's Autobrand off his dead body and slapped it on your chassis.
( Which? Kinda gross. )
no subject
[ and he's all right with talking about those reasons. they bring a little smug grin to his face. of course... it only grows. ]
I know plenty of it. Unlike some, I don't neglect the reports given to the captain. [ ah... it's so fun to get Rodimus going. ] As for Drift... No, he didn't start it. He was an initial part of it and I wonder how much you really know about him.
[ but then... then something happens. his fingers trace over that spot on his chest. it's like Megatron actually knows PAIN. ]
You might not agree with it, Rodimus... But this is all that remains of him. Optimus wouldn't help me bring him with us as we fled.
no subject
( He is so unsure at this point, because that smirk is not helping his opinion or any number of ideas that Rodimus might have about that particular relationship. But at Megatron's comment - Rodimus knows damn well no one but he and Drift were privy to their last conversation. Megatron might know the official side of the story, but the personal part of it? Not even close. )
Have you seen Magnus's memos? They're the exact same thing over and over again. ( He's started reading them after Luna 1, however. Because Magnus makes them less tedious and Rodimus is trying. ) I know enough to know he's not like you.
( Except Megatron does the thing where it's like he has emotions that are something other than 'DESTROY' and 'SMUG ASSHOLE' and Rodimus doesn't actually know how to deal with that. Or at least he wouldn't if he bothered to stop and realize that Megs was having a moment. )
Agree with it? I think it's weird and kinda creepy. But Drift said you used part of someone's spark casing for their Decepticon insignia so I guess wearing a part of a corpse isn't that ba-- ( Wait. Optimus did what. Also why does Megatron look sad? That is sadness isn't it? ) What?
no subject
[ he really doesn't want to get into his relationship with Starscream anyway - if one can call it that. it had always been an odd interaction. the jet HAD been the ideal Decepticon - when Megatron had believed that sort of methodology best. yet the jet always seemed to want to prove himself superior to Megatron in every way, like trying to prove his worth. ironically, even when he praised Starscream, it didn't take.
then the role changes, doesn't it? Starscream could never have power. not after that screw up after their loss on Earth. a reminder to watch his back. to keep his mind sharp.
but that's not relevant at the moment. Megatron merely snorts. no, he and Drift do have their differences, but they are quite alike too. ]
You don't know the slightest thing about me, Rodimus. None of you do.
[ if only because no one has really bothered to ask him about his past. the person that knows him as more than just a, well, image of destruction is Optimus and a few Decepticons. this isn't a tale that he feels Rodimus worthy of hearing either so he just moves on. ]
He was a true hero, you realize. For one so small, he had a big spark. It was not he that sought me out, but I him. In the midst of the chaos, even my own did not come back for me, but that little Autobot did. Though he might have went about it the wrong way, he did not shirk the responsibility of rebuilding a war torn world. Not once did he give up on it like myself or Prime. I wanted to bring him with us as we fled - requested assistance in doing so - as I felt that it was only right. Optimus refused and insisted there just was no time.
[ as he speaks his expression is actually soft. thoughtful. thought it turns a bit hard at the end. there was time. ]
We are less because of this loss.
no subject
( If he can't throw around general accusations about Megatron's character, then Megatron can't accuse Rodimus of things he knows nothing about. Seems fair. Because this whole 'I'm totally reformed now' thing doesn't sit right with Rodimus, not when it's coming from Megatron.
Still, that emotion? Weird. Hella weird, and he shifts awkwardly because he's not certain how to deal with it other than ignore it in favor of being his normal self. Which is what he's going to do. )
That's just who Bee was. The whole ( Vague hand gesture meant to imply Bee's everything. ) thing he had going for him. ( Sure, they'd parted on bad terms. But he thought, he knew Bee was going to win, to fix things while he was out finding them a better choice, a better option than trying to rebuild something that was broken. ) He was supposed to have won, you know? Because it was Bumblebee.
no subject
[ all Megatron can offer there is a slight shrug. people mean well, but under the pressure and stress that these situations deal out, it's hard to say what actions will be taken. the general populace will not remember that someone's actually decent, only what they did. ]
No one can fix something that's falling apart. There were other factors as well you forgot to account for: Starscream and Prowl, mostly. Then there was myself, but at that point you couldn't have known I was still alive.
[ hey. he admits it at least.
as for the other parts? Prowl undermining the people that he is supposed to be helping is nothing new. Bumblebee is just too trusting. he needed someone around that wasn't Prowl that would have actually helped him. kept him grounded to reality and not encourage such dreadful behavior. and Starscream? well he's Starscream. no explanation needed there. ]
It's very easy to stumble when you do not have the appropriate support system in place. His venture was doomed to fail from the start.
no subject
Feel free to take this as personally as you want, but we all knew it'd be too good to be true if you were actually dead. ( Rodimus finds it hard to believe that Prowl wouldn't account for someone like Starscream, if only because it's Prowl. ) And Prowl could use someone removing whatever's been lodged up his exhaust pipe for the last four million years, but everyone knows he's Prowl. ( Apparently Bee didn't. While Rodimus doesn't like the former second in command of the Autobots, he's not blaming him for what happened aboard the Lost Light. No, that one is all on him, and his thumb runs across the numbers on his palm again. )
I told him so, and he was supposed to keep it all together until I found the Knights and bring back the Golden Age.
( It feels weird to be talking to Megatron like this. Not the casual insults or the constant reminder that he didn't like Megatron, but the sort of-- talking to him without the expectation of having that cannon leveled at him at any point in time. Although he wouldn't put it past the other to try. )
no subject
Of course. However, if I were dead, then you most certainly wouldn't be fit to actually find the Knights.
[ basically you failed, Rodimus. but with him on board, oh no. Megatron is confident that he is going to keep people on track this time around. actually educate them,
and then his grin turns into a smug smirk. ]
As for Prowl... Why, he certainly does have his hands full with the Constructicons now. Being one of six with a shared mind must be oh so taxing on him. Or liberating.
[ but then his expression dies somewhat. Megatron doesn't agree with Rodimus in regards to Bumblebee. ]
There was no way he could have, Rodimus. As I said... There was no one there that would actually help him in the capacity that he needed.
no subject
( Frag him, he hates Thunderclash. But he also knows that he's their only reasonable hope for finding the Knights at this point in time, what with the map destroyed and everything. Still, it doesn't make Megatron of all people trying to rub it in his face any better. He's not going to stand for that. )
-- the Constructicons. Prowl. Is that-- is that what that thing was?
( Although he's not going to lie the idea of Prowl having to combine with Decepticons does make him snicker. Because he is actually five and dislikes Prowl as much as the next person. Probably even more. But this? This is a suspicious sort of squinting going on. )
Are you seriously trying to tell me that you think Optimus and I - that we shouldn't have left?
no subject
He is their new head. Literally.
[ they're all perfect for each other. really. Prowl might have Cybertron in mind when he undermines each and every person he is supposed to follow, but even Megatron questions those methods. Prowl should really have been a Decepticon... ]
All I am saying, Rodimus, that neither one of you are really good at sticking around and have abandoned responsibilities more than once.
no subject
Prowl's their head. Prowl's the head of a bunch of Decepticons. ( THIS MIGHT BE THE GREATEST THING HE'S HEARD ALL MONTH. ) That's-- oh man, I bet he's furious. This is great!
( So what if he's slightly unsympathetic to Prowl's plight? Sue him. But Megatron's next comment is like someone just threw him into a bucket of cold water. )
No way, I had this conversation with Hardhead before he disintegrated. And how would you know? Since you were on the opposing side and everything?
( He hasn't abandoned shit! Except for that once on Earth, but that was with good cause since people KEPT DYING. )
no subject
[ it's really an amusing situation for Megatron. the Constructicons taking to Prowl like they have shouldn't be surprising. Prowl allowing them to carry on like they do is. there's likely some tactical advantage, but eh. ]
You'll also find that I am very thorough when it comes to information. I have read every report Ultra Mangus has submitted, every file on each person that is on the Lost Light, and did my best to research what I could of the Knights while doing your job the last six months.
[ a smirk. ]
Details are important, Rodimus. Knowing your crew is also important.
no subject
He knows what Megatron is implying, and if there's one thing other than people dying that gets on his nerves, it's people like him insinuating that he doesn't want the best for people that he's in command over. He has always wanted that, he wants them to be happy. He wants them to be alive at the end of the day.
So that is absolutely a finger being jabbed in his direction, optics narrowed. )
Don't ever try to say that I don't care about my crew ever again, Megatron. I don't care what you think you're trying to prove by doing this whole thing, but reading files doesn't mean you know them or give a scrap about what happens to them. ( He mad? He mad. ) So fine, I'm stuck with you on my ship and here. Optimus can be lenient all he wants, but I'm not going to - you've killed people. And you kept on doing it.
It's gonna take a while for me to swallow your sudden change of heart from a guy who told me that true leaders don't regret the things they've done. From the guy that said he'd keep on slaughtering people because it gave him joy.
( Oh yeah. They listened in on that. Thank you Omega Supreme. )
no subject
[ now he sort of rises to his full height. looming is just sort of a thing that he does. an intimidation factor because yes, yes he has killed. Megatron will never say that he doesn't deserve a death sentence - because he does. he surrendered himself to it and would have allowed it if the trial had actually been unbiased. ]
That is the problem I have with you, Rodimus. It isn't that you don't have potential... Even I saw that in you an age ago. What is bothersome is that you do not know how to be anything other than a petulant adventure seeker that does what he wants without consideration of the larger picture or the lives that could be at stake.
[ Megatron is so doing the equivalent of rubbing at this temple. ]
I did have a thought to help push you in the right direction so that you wouldn't repeat the mistakes that Prime and myself have made. Yet the more and more I see how you behave, the less and less I am convinced. [ scoffs. ] "Until all are one..." You don't even know what that means.
[ it's then that he turns to leave. he has had enough dealing with Rodimus. he doesn't expect forgiveness or blind trust that his intentions are genuine... but the blind hatred that has spurned this on for 4 million years... can't people be tired of it already? Megatron is... ]
I've killed many, Rodimus. I will not deny it no more than I will deny that I deserve what I get. If you were to try to kill me, I wouldn't fight back. What I seek isn't redemption or forgiveness. It isn't even acquittal. To give back what I've taken - to ensure that all those that lost their lives at my hand or yours are not in vain.
no subject
I don't have to listen to this from you. I don't have to take this from you, of all people. And I absolutely don't need you to offer your 'help', whatever that is.( Because help from Megatron is the last thing anyone should want. Pretty much ever. ) This whole quest, my quest, by the way. That's me growing up, and you what? Just walked onto my ship as 'co-captain' because Optimus says it's okay?
( NOT FAIR, HIS SHIP. HIS QUEST. HIS. )
Magnus once told me that justifying people's deaths by gaining something in return cheapens it. That saying "at least they didn't die in vain" is pointless because they're still dead.
( That it was good thing they didn't find the Knights after Luna 1, because then no one would say that everything that had happened would be 'worth it'. Because nothing was worth people dying, was worth Rewind and Pipes and everyone else. Was worth Drift. )
He's right. So come find me when you realize that too, and then we'll talk.
( He's going to his best to storm past Megatron and away - snatching a ration packet as he does so. )
